Born in Bursa in 1979, Yılmaz graduated from the Public Administration Department of Anadolu University, Faculty of Economics in 2022. Yılmaz took up felting as a hobby in the early 2000s. She learned traditional compressed felt making by watching masters from Afyonkarahisar and from R. Gülenay Yalçınkaya between 2002 and 2005. Yılmaz, who started to participate in exhibitions in Afyonkarahisar with felt products with her master Yalçınkaya in 2006, is a member of the Afyonkarahisar Fine Arts Association and the Topak Ev Sanat Grubu (Topak Home Art Group). Yılmaz is married and has two children. She has been working in the private sector since 1997 and is studying at the Anadolu University Associate Degree Program of, Laboratory and Veterinary Assistance Service
