Born in 1970, Ilbaş graduated from Ankara Yenimahalle Girls Vocational High School. In 2003, Ilbaş took an interest to handicrafts, successfully completed the embroidery course at Göztepe Girls’ Vocational High School in 2006, and continued taking courses such as embroidery, wood painting and jewellery design. Ilbaş, who attended the needle lace and embroidery course at ISMEK in Istanbul in 2012, also transferred her experiences to others by organising her own courses, and worked in the hand embroidery workshop at Izmir Olgunlaşma Enstitüsü between 2016 and 2020. Ilbaş had the opportunity to do Maraş embroidery within the scope of the Presidential Puşide Project, and she has been working in her own workshop by focusing on her personal projects since 2020, designing and embroidering dresses for export. Ilbaş, who also gives online embroidery courses, is preparing to give courses at Karaburun Public Education Centre in the new term.
