Hüseyin Aktaş was born on October 29, 1972, in Kütahya. He graduated in 1992 from Eskişehir Anatolian Technical High School, Department of Aircraft Engines. Aktaş began practicing the art of tile-making (çini) in 1993. After producing works in the classical İznik style, miniature, and engraving traditions, he turned toward creating original compositions. He received training in miniature art under the guidance of master Mehmet Ali Çiçek and, apart from this mentorship, developed his artistic skills through a self-taught (alaylı) background. Working in the fields of tile, ceramic, and pottery art, the artist continues his production in his own workshop. He participated in the “Kütahya Tiles” exhibitions held at New York Avita Studio in 2005, 2006, and 2024. Aktaş currently continues his artistic practice in Kütahya as a tile and ceramic artist.
